PAINTING WHITE GARDEN ROSES IN WATERCOLOUR
June 17-18 2023 (Weekend Workshop)
Learn how to paint roses like the Old Botanical Masters. In this in-depth 6-hour weekend workshop, we will create a composition with one or more pale roses, stems and leaves. You will get a detailed demonstration of all the techniques I use.
This workshop is open to all levels, from beginners to advanced artists and will teach you skills you can use to paint any subject from Nature. Each student will get the help and feedback they need and you will be able to freely ask questions during the painting sessions. The workshop is limited to 12 people and will not be recorded. All students should feel free to participate, share and discuss their work. This is the perfect solution if you can’t join for a weekly class, but do want to take a deep dive into botanical watercolour painting with me. After each session, I stay online and provide feedback for as long as there are still questions.
Live on Zoom | Sat. June 17th 18:00-21:00 CET & Sun. June 18th 18:00-21:00 CET
Equipment: a laptop or tablet, your own watercolour supplies (for recommendations see: Equipment), fresh garden Roses | Reference photo’s available.

"Since I took this course, I see so many things that I would like to draw. So many pictures that need to be brought onto paper, and what am I painting there, reality or my fantasies? Sophie's botanical class teaches you to trust your eyes and your hand. I look forward to more."
“ I would highly recommend Sophie's class. She not only has exceptional talent and skill, she has a lovely, calm teaching manner and explains her process clearly and masterfully. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this class.”

Sophie wants her learners to succeed and her genuine passion for botanical painting is inspiring. She is knowledgeable and friendly. The lessons are interesting and engaging for beginners to the more advanced. I really enjoyed my time and wish I could have lessons in person! I will definitely consider taking more lessons in the future. Thank you for allowing me to learn from you!”
“When I first started painting with Sophie I was a bit nervous that my skills in watercolours would not be good enough. Well I wasn't wrong! But what I didn't expect was how much I would learn and how much I would improve. Sophie's approach is one of curiosity and experimentation; I always felt encouraged and never judged.”
